"It's fascinating to think of the movie stars who have graced this plane's interior," said Maureen Massey, Vice President of HARS. "The plane's history is a testament to the allure of aviation among the rich and famous."
A Complex Transportation
The transportation of the plane's parts, including the fuselage, wings, and tail, was a delicate operation. A small team of specialists spent 60 days disassembling the aircraft in Georgia, ensuring each piece was carefully loaded onto the ship.
"The process was intricate and required skilled hands," explained Paul Rabbas, Operations Manager at Qube Ports. "We had to consider various factors, from tidal charts to cargo length, to ensure a safe and damage-free discharge."
A New Chapter
With the plane's arrival, HARS can now begin the process of rebuilding and displaying this iconic aircraft. The rebuild is expected to take at least six months, and the interest from various organizations is already high.
"This plane's journey has been an ordeal, but we believe it will leave a positive impact on Australian history and the local community," said Ms. Massey.
